I've just read nearly every word of the comments about X-Stream and frankly I'm aghast.

Valyard starts to get it in post 79, but I'm still not sure many others of you do, particularly Andy, I'm afraid to say.

1. Andy says,
As most of you probably know, here in the UK we have to pay for local phone calls, and of course we have flat-rate ISP charges too like in other countries (usually about £12 per month).

**********************************************************************

What most people haven't completely grasped I think is that not only
pay for phone calls here in the UK, but that payment goes to the telephone company and is not an online charge set by the ISP.
So, X-Stream have offered a 100% free Internet access service, its just
that the calls are charged by the telephone company. X-Stream will
not I'm sure be buying my PC, paying my electric or house rent either
which are all essential componants in my online experiences.

Add to that the fact X-Stream then have had the guts to pay for free
calls out of their own pocket, when nobody else wants to (even if the
times of day don't suit you, it doesn't make it any cheaper for them,
but it does help to manage their bandwidth) I can't understand why your headline isn't "X-Stream Does It Again", and stand back and watch all the falling into line as they usually do.

It amazes me that anyone can put such a lot of effort into writing a
criticsm of a company that doesn't charge. I'm also amazed that such
lttle time was put into reading their web site where it says that the
offer is promo, and that you have to use X-Stream email to
benefit.Would you complain that a newspaper runs a competition and
doesn't supply the answer and deprives you of a prize?

Meyers is right. Do your research and stop knocking the innovators.
WIthout them there'd be no free internet in the UK. What he didn't
say and I will, is get a life, or a girlfriend or what ever it is that makes
you think you're Anne Robinson and start getting behind the
companies whos efforts will eventually get you free call charges too.
