ECHO-"HIGHEST ENERGY DENSITY IN THE WORLD"- Check this out
biz.yahoo.com

I wonder how many they are turning out per day or month and if they have any large orders in the works? They say one size is available now. I seem to remember ULBI stating something similar, and were going to make their batteries available for purchase on the internet.

They may not have the highest energy density. To compare, Here's a place start:http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/14_5/9810/t455175.htm

Valence's 11/97 spec sheet lists the weight of the 4mm version as 85g. The Korean specs dated oct 98 state 4000mah. Multiply 4 amps x 3.8 volts and the result is 15.2 watt hours. Divide by the .085kg and the result is 179 watt hours per kilogram as of last October. If we add 40% for the phosphate improvements, the result could be as high as 250 watt hours per kilo. A more recent Valence patent and formula is estimated to add almost another 40% beyond that. Phosphate versions may have been shipped recently. About 45 days ago I was told shipment of some phosphate-enhanced product was 4-6 weeks away.

I encourage anyone with some math ability to pick up their calculators and work these numbers for themselves. I remember Dennis V had computed 170 wh/kg from last fall's Hanil specs. I believe Valence does not publish recent specs and the Koreans published what they expected as of last October. I expect Valence's volume production is comfortably past 190 wh/kilo and Electrofuel might not have the highest energy density in the world!

The 500 million watt hour NI plant capacity discussed months ago was based on about 135-140 wh/kilo. The same amount of production at 200 wh/kg should work out to over 700 mln watt hours. I heard Valence expects over $3 per watt hour for some applications because of the high performance. How much annual revenue is just $2 x 700 million watt hours? Is the market going to figure this out anytime soon? A $150 million dollar order should serve as an eye opener!
