if you hit ctrl+alt+del twice in a row, you shut down. otherwise, nothing would make you shut down, except maybe explorer, but i've never closed it so i don't know. you may already know this, hp, but 'end task' will shut down the highlighted application. 'cancel' will close the 'close program' window or dialog. 'shut down' shuts your puter down. :) mark
