Ref: AVATAR systems...

Jay, The 170 MB removable HARDdiskettes from Avatar fall in the same
category as Syquest 's EZ-135. Basically removable harddisk technology.
Price/performace will be a problem for them just as Syquest EZ-135 and
Compag LS-120 have with Zip and Jaz.

The way I see it, the post in Syquest 's thread should be reversed:
"AVATAR SYSTEMS CORPORATION 's biggest threat is a company '
called IOMEGA." I don't expect AVATAR to be a major force or even
be around long, especially when prices of Zip and Jaz drives and disks
are reduced as planned. If you think the competitions are having a
tough time now, wait till price reduction!

PRICE/PERFORMANCE is the key to this game. Not just performance
or just price. This is where IOMG has a really strong advantage over everyone,
and the main reason why IOMG has been able to blow up potential
competitions.
