RE: "Sure Intel could, when they get rolling with the server farms."

Hi Tony,

I believe Intel's target is the mid-size firm. I doubt the larger firms would outsource mission critical components which need continual changing. But maybe large firms would be interested in this as a backup? I think the PC Server farm is great for small to mid-size businesses (who may not have the capital nor desire to build a large infrastructure), and possibly as temporary expansion/backups for larger firms, especially during random peak volumes.

RE: "However, what makes you think Intel would do RAS any better than Sun?"

Did I say that? What I was trying to say was, holes in Open Source code can get fixed quicker than holes in software developed through traditional software development practices. Linux has a time-to-market advantage on deployment of bug fixes, like security.

RE: "Intel only need look to IBM for how to do RAS (I know that Intel already is committed to it big time, but the big guy is still the leader)."

Tony, when you say IBM is the leader, what specifically were you referring to (i.e. for what market segment/application?) I'm interested in learning your thoughts.

Regards,
Amy J
