<<Gold is a beautiful shiny metal with no inherent value except that which acquired by the markets.>>
for the record:
Main Entry: in·her·ent Pronunciation: -&nt Function: adjective Etymology: Latin inhaerent-, inhaerens, present participle of inhaerEre Date: 1581 : involved in the constitution or essential character of something : belonging by nature or habit : INTRINSIC
(I believe # 3 has your intended meaning)
Main Entry: 1val·ue Pronunciation: 'val-(")yü Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, from (assumed) Vulgar Latin valuta, from feminine of valutus, past participle of Latin valEre to be worth, be strong -- more at WIELD Date: 14th century 1 : a fair return or equivalent in goods, services, or money for something exchanged 2 : the monetary worth of something : marketable price 3 : relative worth, utility, or importance <a good value at the price> <the value of base stealing in baseball> <had nothing of value to say>

Then as gold has the best temperature and electrical conductivity of any mineral at room temperature state and offers the finest resistance to corrosion I suspect you intended something such as "limited value" due to these signs of utility .
