Big Guy,

You asked the right person. Here are some basic info:

1.Radon is an ordorless and colorless gas easily dissolves in ground water under pressure
2. It is a product from Uranium decay.
3. It can reach the ground surface with water or just sift through soil.
4. It is not found in surface water because it will evaporate.

The easiest way to remove it is to use aeration devices. The next is to use activated carbon to adsorb it. Aeration is done by flowing air bubbles through water to carry Radon out of door. The activated carbon adsorption has a limited life and you need to change it according to schedule and the concentration of Radon in your water. It is only suitable for low - med. level Radon problems. Because the accumulation of radio active materials in you filter could become a big health hazard in your house if it is not used properly. There is no standard for these devices yet. But, it is being prepared and will be released in a few years.

If you have Radon problem in your drinking water, you should not drink it right away. I believe it will diffuse out from water if you leave it in an small open container over night. But, it will stay in your home which is another issue. Normally, if you have Radon in the drinking water, you may have the same problem for your indoor air quality. Especially in the bath room when you take a shower. Well, I have hit the points. I will get back to you if I have more to talk about.

Sincerely,
Wade
