Neal, I think there is at least some explanation required to make sense out off Father G. working so hard to gain control. There could be one of several I can think of, but these are just opinions.

("They" indicates Father Gregory and his supporters)

1. They don't think there is anything there BUT, they think they can hype the stock up enough to get their money back and get out. (Sorry Henry, I know that one hurts)

2. They have no idea what is there but IF there is, any deal they have worked with J/L will be lost if Bob is successful without the J/L process involved

3. They know for sure that SOMETHING is there and it's just a matter of time before it is figured out and whoever is in charge at the time will be the one in the limelight.

As far as option three goes, we can't forget that Jimmy got this whole thing started. He has been in this for almost 9 years now. Here, at what some may think is the final steps to prove if the PM's are recoverable, he gets slapped with the penalties from Alberta and has to step down. He has an ace in the whole through Father G. so at least he can be part of bringing it across the finish line so he will play that out, for ego reasons alone, just to be able to say "I did it". 9 years of work is a lot to let go of.

Some may remember that brilliant quote a while back here on SI,
"Naxos is a scam that went terribly wrong...they HAVE the gold!". Who knows if Jimmy really honestly believed it was there in the beginning. The charges against him seem to say that he knew what he didn't have at least, which is why he needed to exaggerate the progress, which clearly hurt investors giving false hope. But at some point, there was enough testing for even the president of the ASE to say yes, there is gold there. What Jimmy or anyone else still doesn't know, is if there is a way to extract it economically.

So, the battle goes on for who is in control, but Father G. is working awful hard to gain control of SOMETHING. We can all form our own opinions of just what that "something" is - answer 1,2 or 3. (or some other answer I have not listed.
