You really can't put a tiny company like Avatar in the same catagory as Compaq. Avatar is no threat to iomeqa, but it is too soon to say weather or not the LS-120 will be a threat to Iomeqa. Iomeqa has a huge head start over Compaq, but Apple had a huge head start over Microsoft. As long as Iomeqa continues to bring out new products ahead of the competition (i.e. like Intel), then their dominance will be assured.

Theories abound on just what cratered the high-flying issue, but one skeptic points to a 'breakthrough' removable disk drive, developed by MKE of Japan, Compaq Computer and Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing, that reportedly will be included in future Compaq PCs.
