Mr. netson: Thanks for the links. Speaking of there was lots of talk about the shock that a undocked head in a h/d can take on the 'iom' thread better than a year ago, as I recall. The price close to 400 for the drive kit mentioned in the article seems to make it too costly for the personal carry market. For instance one wouldn't want to drop there RIO with a 400 dollar ibm h/d if there is a chance of breaking it "like a camera".
But for myself I think it's interesting when you listen to the realaudio link you provided and hear 'dimd' speak of the auto/home market.
A music source of several hours that I can plug into the dash of my car would imo be superior to the trunk mounted multidisk player I'm using now. And the price seems from my thinking competitive. Plus weight isn't a factor and shock absorbing tech can be used just as it's used now in auto mounted players.
Again thank you for the links and your time reading with my idle thoughts.
