Greg, Dell does a lot of this now but need to grow their infrastructure to expand coverage. Also, grow to provide higher end services where companies like IBM and EDS compete. To become a complete one-stop shopping experience for enterprise IT needs, hardware is only one component. Other areas are supply chain management, eBusiness consulting, enterprise resource planning, network consulting... the list is long. The total addressable market for services is projected to be at $460B in 2001. That's 50% larger than the entire hardware segment, from consumer PC's on up to enterprise servers and storage.
