This was/is a concept which has been perpetrated by the religious elite in an attempt to control the masses through intimidation and manipulation. I realize that virtually all world religions recognize the presence of a soul, but when one analyzes the power structure of organized religion, one recognizes the psychology behind it. What better way to control a group of people than by instilling a sense of fear for the consequences of one's actions during their lifetimes. Therefore, to answer your question, no, I do not believe in the presence of a soul. We humans are merely warm-blooded organisms with the mental capacity for self-awareness.
