Israel knowhow for Mahindra & Mahindra military MUVs Company Website mahindraworld.com Our Bureau MUMBAI, June 15 MAHINDRA & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has signed a MoU with Plasan Sasa of Israel for design and development of armoured (bullet proof) solutions on M&M utility vehicles for use by Indian security forces. Plasan Sasa is a major Israeli designer and manufacturer of modern light weight ballistic kits and has been supplying to the Israeli defence forces, security agencies and NATO countries such as Germany and Greece. Its products are based on four major armour technologies: composite steel, composite ceramic, flexible ceramic armour and high performance polyethylene and aramid laminates. The proposed solutions for M&M vehicles cover potential use by the police, banks and even armoured protection to other automotive models being produced in the country. Co-operation will extend to body armours (bullet proof vests) which have wide appications for security forces or civilian use. The ballistic kits will be procured from Plasan Sasa and installed on M&M vehicles at the newly-established Mahindra Auto Speciality Company. Gradual indigenisation of the kits will take place, an official M&M press release said, adding that the first batch of prototypes were being tested in Israel.
