RESTON, Va., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- TV onthe WEB, Inc., the first interactive, community-based television network on the Web and a strategic partner of Ampex Corporation (Amex: AXC), today announced the company will produce a live worldwide "wedcast" to spotlight the June 26th wedding of TV onthe WEB's own Jennifer Jaasma, vice president of Operations, to Sumeet (Sonu) Singh, senior director at NextLinx, Inc.

"She's planning a beautiful ceremony that I think will result in some very compelling video and we've been overwhelmed with interest from around the world as a result. We're adding server capacity to meet the demand for what I think will be a very well-attended event."
In addition to video coverage of the ceremony and reception, a virtual guest book and interactive chat will be provided to allow world viewers to interact with wedding attendees, including the bride and groom. The event is being staged at the luxurious Lansdowne Resort, located on the Potomac River in historic Leesburg, VA, and will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. The couple will then affirm their vows in a traditional American wedding ceremony at 5:45 p.m. ET. Cocktails and Indian musical entertainment will be featured from 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET, followed by a live Dinner Show and Multimedia Finale. Coverage will continue until 1 a.m. ET to permit maximum worldwide interactivity.
Swami Madhav Tirth, a Holy Leader in India, has traveled to the U.S. for the occasion, and will bless the couple.
Background on the Couple:
Jennifer (known as JJ) received her Bachelor's Degree in Voice at the University of Maryland.
JJ is one of the founding employees of TV onthe WEB, the first interactive, community-based television network on the Web, based in Reston, VA. She is from Blacksburg, VA, of Dutch ancestry. Daughter of Dr. Dennis and Mrs. Diana Jaasma; Jennifer's father is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and her mother is a homemaker and artist.
Sumeet (known as Sonu) received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Sonu is Sr. Director and Founder of the Professional Services Division of NextLinx, specializing in providing automation tools to the international trade community, based in Silver Spring, MD. He is from Blacksburg, VA, and was born in Dehradun, India. Son of Dr. M.P. Singh, Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics and Dr. Kusum Singh, Professor of Educational Research, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Sonu's relatives in New Delhi, India will be watching the celebration on the Web.
