Thank you for your answer, but I think I didn't make myself very clear. Someone is going to make a wireless, Win CE smart phone; that is a given. And I do think Qualcomm will be one of them. My point is that CDMA is very time critical. If Qualcomm held out hopes of using Win CE for all the functions - including communications - than Win CE might just be a viable RTOS. If, however they have planned all along to use VxWorks or another RTOS in a Win CE smart phone, that would say much about the industry's opinion of Win CE as a complete RTOS.

Also, I didn't think that the markets you listed in the second paragraph really call for "hardness". If those are the only markets that MSFT is interested in, why all the effort to convince everyone that they will someday be a complete alternative.
