Anyone: I found an interesting article a while ago and haven't seen any discussion of it. It's the Data Pump (cheap) chipset, a DSP and an analog front end, for under $20. This is for use in a multi-rate DSL modem suitable for residential use, providing 272-784 kb.

Robotics will have to be a big player in xDSL, right? So, is USRX going to be using the new TI DSP in their modems? I seem to recall that it was more expensive, maybe $70.

Will other chips have to be added to this set, like a host adapter thingy?

I can't tell from the little I know if MDSL is materially different from RADSL, or whether it is ahead of the curve or behind it. It sure looks like it is setting a price point for the next modem go-around. Any comments?
