Foreign Affairs NATO Anniversary issue (April/May 1999) has a very interesting description of the two main "ideological" KLA wings:

1) derived from the Skandenberg Waffen SS Division (their children and grand-children) and

2) off-spring of the Albanian Cultural Revolution and Chinese rapprochement with Maoist China in the late 60's and 70's (under Enver Hohxa).
