Asian Star Obtains License To Operate 6-12 Store Chain In City of Sanya, Hainan, China

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--Asian Star Development, Inc. (OTC BB:ASTV - news), a Nevada Corporation, announced today that through its nominee, it has obtained license to operate ''6-12'' Convenient Store Chain in the Sanya City of Hainan Province, China. Sanya - nickname of Eastern Hawaii - a tourist city with a population of 600,000. Sanya is the most southern city of China, with year-round tropical climate.

Asian Star planned to operate ''6-12'' Convenient Store Chains in all major cities of China. The 8'' x 10'' Kiosks will be situated on busy street corner/s or spots. They will be modern looking, equipped with air-conditioning, electricity and water. In addition, the store will have a computer to facilitate communications, faxing, copying, telecommunication (I.D.D.) and accounting for retail sales of 300-400 convenience items. The computer will be configurated to provide additional services, including internet access, as they become available in China.
Billboard spaces will be also available for rental.

With the approval of Beijing and Sanya, Asian Star is negotiating with other major cities and expert to receive more approval/s in the near future.
