I know a bit about the use of helium. I believe its biggest use is in M.R.I.s . It is used to cool Conductors, as i understand it a lot is lost during procedures. Evidently there have been advances in the technology recently. In a hospital near me they have just replaced there M. R. I. with a new one. One of the reasons given was a big reduction in lost helium. The old one was only 5 years old. The cost as i understand it is aprox. 1.5 mil. Also there are only 3 or 4 in the city. So for them to scrap it, there must be a big cost advantage.Could this possibly effect the price of helium down the road??? THis info is mostly second hand, so i do not know if it is to reliable.
