before that I was an investor, subject to the whims of the markets The "whims of the market" would have you at 3x what you started with over the past six years. Not all that bad. Of course for a taxable SPY investment, you'd have to pay taxes when you sold, which drops the net after selling to about 2.5x. How do your gains compare, if you're willing to share that info? Randy
