I don't know if Sharkey's info is accurate but he says:

While Sharkey and his Gamers are not impressed this sounds like the beginning of the giant ripping sound as Intel pulls the rip cord on their "Sky Dive Towards DRDRAM on the Desktop" that I have been preaching about. The significance is lost on Sharkey but the only missing link to a really big story is: "If i810e supports Pentium III then doesn't it also support Coppermine?" If this proves true then the really big story will be: "Intel insists that the world switch to Rambus on the desktop for Coppermine in September but this i810e loophole allows OEMs to use sdram instead and MOST OF THEM CHOOSE TO DO SO!!!!"

Anyone still saying Who Cares should wonder how this will affect rmbs shareholders. 1. Bad publicity 2. Delayed rampup of drdram volume 3. Falling rmbs price.
