While I agree with his intentions of having a national standard. I can't say I agree that the industry should be left on their own to handle it. We have already seen cases of unequal access for telephones (land line and wireless) for retail customers and new ISP's as incumbents try to hold off competition while saying they are doing a good job of open up their networks.

Thee split seems to be helping ATHM today.
