JUN 17, 1999, M2 Communications - Teed off sports fans around the world who can't make this years star-studded Compaq European Grand Prix golf tournament at Slaley Hall from June 24-27 1999, will be able to experience all the live action via Compaq's innovative new Web site. The 1999 Compaq Grand Prix has attracted the leading names from the world of golf including: Seve Ballesteros, Darren Clarke, Mark James, Sandy Lyle, Bernhard Langer, Sam Torrance and Ian Woosnam, ensuring that this Ryder Cup qualifier will be the most exciting to date - even for the armchair spectator.
From today, golf fans can purchase tickets for the Compaq European Grand Prix direct from the Web site, walk the course with the Compaq Virtual Tour, obtain inside information on the star players and enter Compaq competitions to win the latest handheld computer equipment. When play commences on the 24 June 1999, the site will have up-to-the-minute information on all the action including access to individual players score cards, daily play analysis and all the leaderboard action.
