Rashe,

I wonder how relevant the "size does matter" metric holds here with regards to employment figures. It's been stated repeatedly on these boards, as if to in some demeaning way imply that GBLX is without substantive staff, that they only have 250 employees. As opposed to ??? at QWST ?

Do you count the cross-connect technicians at LCI in this figure, and do you give them the same weight as the optical engineers and business strategists at GBLX? Do QWST's current repair service attendants who answer 611 calls carry as much weight as GBLX's new business development and acquisition team? What? Does the GBLX count include their earlier stage contracted consultants who may range into a another several hundred? The global route engineers? What is the real significance of this recurring citation?

It's been said that an elephant will respect the limits imposed by a three foot piece of string, tied to a post. Is that it? Is the question: How do they propose to manage a company the size of USW as well as FRO with so few management staff available to handle the load? I would like to hear from you and others on this issue.

Regards, Frank Coluccio
