Australia Prepares for Internet Gaming Boom

Tomorrow, the NGISC will deliver a report to Congress that will recommend a ban of Internet gambling in the US. Will this mean that all online gambling operators will be put out of business? No way, Jose! Operators in Australia are rejoicing in the belief that an Internet gambling ban in the US will only help Australian Internet gambling sites to prosper. "This move could actually benefit Australia and any Internet gaming operator," says Sydney's Star City Casino spokesman, Peter Grimshaw, who predicts that US gamblers will avoid regulations and continue to play at reliable gaming sites. Grimshaw is one among many who contend that an online gambling ban would be difficult to enforce because people can and do operate Internet gaming sites all over the world.
