"I looked at the PC computing magazine. There is an article about searche engine. Verity name was not found anywhere in that article and still some of the folks claim it is a leading search engine provider" They might talking about Internet search engin, while VRTY's search engin business is really started from CD ROM search. For example, Wall Street Journal use their search engin in their web version of the newspaper (as an internal search). VRTY and Yahoo etc. have different market. IMO. Anybody knows more are welcome to correct me.
