Konka makes VCD players in China, right?

CHINA'S KONKA TARGETS RS 2.25 BLN TURNOVER IN INDIA

NEW DELHI - Taking advantage of extremely low-cost production in China, consumer electronics giant Konka plans to market its products aggressively in India as part of a strategy to achieve a Rs 2.25 billion (US$52.37 million) breakeven turnover within the next 12 months. Konka India's chief operating officer (CEO) Rajeev Puri said in comparison to China, production costs were 80 per cent higher in Korea, 200 per cent more in Japan and 350 per cent more in Europe. "This gives Konka India a huge cost advantage while competing with Korean brands LG and Samsung, Japanese major Sony and European brands like Thomson in the Indian market," Puri said.
