Cheryl, you're talking about OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which "reads" squiggles of pixels in a document image and converts them to ASCII characters.

The leader in OCR is Caere Corp. with about 80% of the market. CRNR uses CAER's OCR as one InputAccel module, but the two technologies are separate.

The really hot markets right now for InputAccel are medical and insurance forms processing. These businesses process thousands of pages per day and need the kind of modularity that InputAccel offers. It's absolutely amazing to me how much manual effort goes into lifting data from such documents.

P.S. Cornerstone the company is good; it's the stock that's been a problem. Any day now some newsletter or analyst will take interest in the stock and start the ball rolling. We are right where Peter Lynch says to buy - after you've done your homework but before the "smart money" starts falling over each other to buy.
