DRBES: <<AMD's 1st earnings warnings have historically come as late as the last few days of the quarter>> This is a friendly rebutal: Under amd.com Corporate News Section, you will see that the recent warns for two respective quarters occured well BEFORE the "last few days of the quarter." AMD warned for Q3/97, first warn on 9/3/97, followed by a second warn on 9/30/97. AMD also warned for Q1/99, first on 2/4, followed on 3/8 and 4/7. Conclusion: AMD has not warned for Q2 yet in this late stage of the quarter; possibility to warn still exist but becomse smaller as days go by.
