Well because Paul, we live in a society where we don't have the reins around a bunch of key issues, one of which is teenage pregnancy, another is sex/violence in the media, etc. and until we solve some of those problems it is just unfair to ruin some teenage girl's life and force her into an unwanted pregnancy because of some immature impasse, particularly at the very early stages when there is no scientific evidence that the "fetus" (if it even is that) is a viable entity. Even with regards to sex education in schools the adults can't agree to what the policy should be... whatever we have it isn't good for anybody, some people want total openness (giving out condoms etc.) and others say that encourages it so whatever, the entire policy needs work I think we can all agree on that.
