IW--I share your view completely, there's nothing wrong with price prediction as long as it's backed up by some thought and analysis, and that is mostly what we have on this thread. What wears me down is when folks go:

"$200 by 2002!! Wahoo!!!!!!!!"

and that's all they say. That doesn't enlighten anyone, and just wastes our time.

The only thing that you wrote that I disagree with slightly is that the only reason why we're here is to make money--that's, at least, not true for me, as I also enjoy the sense of cameraderie with bright, intellectually-curious people. Making money isn't secondary, by any means, but there are other benefits to spending time here, as well--at least there is for me.
