thanks for the insight. right now I'm using a halogen underwater scuba light for illumination coupled with a unknown mag lense. I got the lense years ago. Its just a lense. I'd guess the mag is maybe 1.5 to 2X its not a great setup as I cannot see fine details like 'clear S or filled S' on a mint mark...
