Thanks for the friendly comments, guys. Working in front of a PC in sales isn't such a bad thing. Myself, I spent many years (over 25) working for big companies, making a salary, building my career in high tech and finally several start-up businesses before I was able to go out and trade seriously. It's all part of the entry ticket! I still keep a day-job, since I live in CA it's possible to trade full-time, and run a business too. It's great if you are smart and talented enough to start your trading education process early with modest capital and build it up over time as you learn (you hear more and more success stories like that recently), I wasn't that fortunate, talented, or lucky... had to wait till later. The learning process was very tough and difficult for me.
Glad to hear there are some "traders" on this thread! I wish you all maximum success. I enjoy sharing my trading "learning curve" experiences (many of them are posted as short-term trading overview/tutorials on Si) and in return learning a lot from other traders. Doesn't look like this is very likely the right thread for it, but there is a ton of good info on "Si", overall and I find many of the threads are quite hospitable to open discussions and different ways of thinking about how to maximize your returns.
By the way, YHOO failed the retest of $150 this morning, and is now only up 5/16 on the day. The rest of the nets are acting a little weak too, EBAY is even a little underwater, although the broad market is acting OK. I missed the move up this morning, and did not find an entry to get short, but am very pleased to be flat - it's below where I exited yesterday.
Regards and good trading. -Steve |
