Well one huge problem ish is with the legal aspects, we haven't really discussed it here, but I have read a few pieces on the matter. Maybe some of the lawyers can comment....

Apparently hinging on the illegal abortion ruling is the determination that the fetus is a "life". And if so, then that means it is eligible for legal classification as a person, at which point you get into a real quandry, because abortions occur naturally all the time and there is even a gray line as to which are intentional vs. non. If we legislate that the fetus is a life then does that open up any natural abortion to a lawsuit of murder in the 2nd degree or something? What if some woman is 8 mos pregnant and goes out rollerblading or something and falls.... maybe she shouldn't have done it because its a little dangerous but she never fell before now she did and lost the baby, can the father file a claim on behalf of the child... etc. And then where do you draw the line as to what was intentional, in other words a woman on crack seems like she is intentionally harming the child so that seems more severe than the rollerblader but what about a car accident where a woman forgets to put her seatbelt on? In all these cases if the fetus has human rights then some precedent would have to be set.... impossible.....
