MaoII: What's the big deal? The theme of your comments today and your frenetic, gibbering cronies from JIMBO's Playhouse mutual admiration club, is that somehow I painted a good picture of my trades in COMPAQ! How come?
I am not particularly proud of the fact that I sold at $24 5/8 when I posted on this thread that I was trying to sell it at $27 1/4 and would expect it to go back to $23 where I would buy in again. It never got there, reaching $27 on the Ask. Instead of selling it in the 26s or 25s, I sold it in the 24s for defensive reasons, like I said, and in the hope that I could buy back lower. I have discussed this in PM with participants.
I did not buy back in at a lower price - except for a small buy late yesterday which I sold today at a loss. Is that boasting?
The reason for my explantion is that I was in PM correspondence with a few people yesterday, at least one of whom knew that I was out of COMPAQ at $24+ and others of whom knew that I was looking for a buy point. Since I am going away for a few days, I wanted them to know what I had done, given the context of our discussions. My posting was addressed to "my friends".
I remember you buying COMPAQ with great enthusiasm at a much higher price than it is today. I have heard nothing from you about your sale. So are you another happy holder, like your buddy Kenya, who held his/her shares from an all-time high in January 1998 until they got back to the price he/she paid for them in about November 1998, at which point he/she promptly sold them. I heard that she/he owns 1,000 Compaq on this thread and 100 on the Jimbo thread - it's called creative accounting. |
