Very. I have Maxtor 5, 7, 8, 17, and 20 GB drives (see earlier
post), and they are all inaudible. Six of these are spinning
within 3 feet of me right now, and all I can hear is the (low db)
case fan on one side and the (too noisy) PC Power & Cooling dual
cpu fan on the other side. Even with the case open
you have to really listen. I was worried about the 7200 rpm
20GB, but nope. Not a whisper. In fact, I have to really
listen during boot up to be sure the drives are calibrating.
