Michael: I would suspect it came from an institution or could possible ...which I hope is someone with a large short position covering! Numbers are indicating a .05+ over expectations. I am hoping that we will see at least a 15% increase over last qtr. If so...and if it exceeds 15%...stock will rip into the mid 30's quite quickly! If 3com gets into the upper 30's low 40's prior to Shareholder mtg (Sept) then some of the "pressure" will be off of Benahamou. Asian mkt is showing some signs of life and 3com should see some positive movement in this region. Came back from trip to HK and the word is "technology...technology...technology. Many were quite impressed with my Palm Pilot and I see quite a bit of orders being placed. They realize that the game is all about Productivity and anything that can increase their productivity they are extremely interested. Many had a lot of questions pertaining to the VII and I am sure that service will be provided to them as soon as possible if 3com mgmt has any brains in their heads. Stopped off in Japan on return...not so good...consumers are worried and curbing spending...worried about their jobs and not very confident with present leadership. Also quite a bit of interest in the Palm from the business community...younger workers seem to be more positive to technology and are more confident than older types. I think that it will be at least another 2-3 yrs before the Japan economy shows any sign of recovering...government needs to stimulate the economy and quit playing politics. Many are concerned about China and how rapidly she is becoming a player in the global economy...they fear a devaluation from China and want a strong dollar and weak yen.

Regards,
HKirby
