Frankly, I am not sure if Eric Schmit's appointment as the new CEO of Novel carries a negative connotation for SUN. Schmit's objective is very clear - he will try to revive Novel's competitiveness in the market place by JAVA-tizing its product line in the PC world. Another interesting fact to consider, SUN micro owns quite a big chuck of Novel. What does that mean? I'll leave that to all of you to figure out. This bring a very interesting senerio - Novel may be in a good position to challenge Microsoft's network products within a very short time. Another interesting point, as much in disarray as Novel is, they do have over 1.1 billion in cash reserve ... Hmm. - Chung
