Edwin -

Interesting exchange from the Fool board.

You can criticize David Gardner, but you can't say that he won't own up to a mistake. That's more than you can say for Iomeganut, Rooky Rude, or any of his other online alter-egos. I honestly can't remember him ever admitting he was wrong about something.

One has to be suspicious of someone who believes he is always right.

And speaking of Herb Greenberg, my observation is that he has taken credit for being "right all along" about Iomega, because he has always been bearish. One can't deny that the overall direction of the stock has borne out the validity of a bearish position. However, all of the reasons Herb has given for his bearishness, over the years, most of which were hearsay and innuendo supplied by famous IOM shorts, have proven to be wrong. He's been right, but all of his reasons have been wrong. Which brings us right back to Iomeganut.

I love it when things work out like that.

PS: I have to agree with Gardner that it's looking less and less like Iomega can ride again. But I'm also with him in holding on to a small position, on the off chance that they will. Hey, at least I didn't pay as much for the stock as he did!
