Doug, if you fear lack of monetary discipline, fine, but chose something that finding and extracting costs are more or less constant and make sure that its production growth rate matches no more no less the growth rate of the world economy. If you produce too little its price will go up and you'll have inflation, or if you keep its price constant, you choke the growth of the world's economy.

Maybe there is a smarter way to instill monetary discipline.
