Dear Silicon Investors,(Continued)
Peter Michaels just called me. He read my last posting, and called to assure my wife and me that he had not abandoned us or any of the other investors. He sounded very tired, very frustrated, and very much over-worked. He was hurt that I could even think that he might behave as a Lorenzo.
When I first met Peter, several years ago, I believed that he was one of the most brilliant people I had ever met. That's why I "bet the farm" on him. I still believe that he is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met, and I still believe that he is going to come through for all of us.
There is no question in my mind that if Peter intended to screw us, he could have done so, a long time ago. I really still believe that he is doing his very best, and that we should cut him some slack so that he can get the job done. He assured me that he was working as hard as a human being could to meet the court deadline, but that outside problems that could adversely effect us all had kept him from getting the conversion letters out on time. I, for one, believe him, and will continue to wait as patiently as I can for my letter.
Although I don't agree with Peter that the press releases are an adequate substitute for personal contact, I can understand that all that he is doing for the company requires his undivided attention. We have waited this long. Can a little while longer really hurt us? We must admit that some of what Peter has accomplished can only be described as phenominal.
Please, let's all give him the extra time he requires, so that we can all benefit from his efforts. Nothing positive can be gained from any other action. He really needs a break from pressure from us. Let's give it to him. We have nothing more to lose, and everything to gain.
