Well, the rule of the game is if you want to exercise your option at the expiration , you have to have 50% of cash in your account ( at least) based on your strike price
in your account before your option can be exercised.

Option is not marginable, so, before converting your option into stocks , which can be marginable, you do not have any stocks in your account which you can use to exercise your option, that is why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
