Morgan, I am not sure Skeet is right... I thought it was European options that were not exercisable until expiration... but I never excercise - just sell. A couple of suggestions, though I do not know how helpful they will be fore you now... - work out stuff like this in advance BEFORE trying to do anything... that way, nobody gets surprised; - if you are not satisfied with your broker, move; - I think I would close all my positions and go long puts for the ride down???
