I agree with you that dropping the A-bomb was to demonstrate US power to the Soviets, but the Soviets went into the Northeast (you called "Manchuria") part of China at the invitation of the Chinese, it was also also agreed that after they drove out the Japanese, they would withdraw. Otherwise, China would never invite them in the first place.
