On a personal note, Stratfor's comprehensive but frequently incorrect anaylsis', especially on market moving events, has cost me a tidy sum of money on two occasions. One was when Chavez won the Venezuelan election - Stratfor was among the most vocal firms to predict rapid capital flight from Venezuela should he glide to victory. Well, the capital moved rapidly, but IN, not OUT. Then I went short Chile for the umpteenth time on Startfor's advice when they sent a 'red alert' out that a coup was brewing in Santiago! The news was pure rubbish. Recently I've had success by taking the opposite positions of what their analysis' would otherwise indicate, and I can tell you that this new strategy is worthy of consideration.
