Analysts, well aware of Compaq's continuing problems, were outraged not by the news itself, but by the manner in which it was delivered. Those who participated in the call characterized it as "tense," "testy," and "fraught with uncertainty". "They really didn't give us any guidance and I suspect that they alienated all of us on the call," said Lou Mazzucchelli, an analyst with Gerard Klauer Mattison.
