<Actually, the new wave of functional foods or "nutraceuticals" will offer real health benefits> Sounds interesting... I was assuming that 'drugs&food' added together would be things like preservatives, geneticly modified crops, and whatnot. I heard you talking about "making food taste better" & "meeting food demand" [food prices in the states are so low farmers are going out of business like mad], and that to me is not a reason to spend money on research. This tells me there may be more to the story: <European food analysts are already alive to this new area> Europeans, as you probably know, are VERY picky about their food supply. If they think it makes sense I'm interested. Where can I find out more info.. any ideas? DAK
