Customers = liabilities. After reading several posts on RB trying to figure out why C0ompaq customers are liabilities I hope some one realizes that the comment reflected Clayton Christenson's (board member G Gilder is pushing this stuff) view that traditional or "sustaining technology" companies are slaves to their customer's desires and hence resistant to change. "Emergent technologies" in contrast flourish in new markets with new types of customer who support the growth prospect for the company. Whether or not you agree or disagree with Christenson's conceptual model and whether or not WAVX is an emgerging technology are items investors must decide for themselves. I did NOT see the interview, but if the comment of customers being a liability was made without reference to Christenson's model it may be miscontrued as a rather irresponsible comment. IMHO
