Bill....I have personal philosophies about what motivates people to excel. A CEO willing to lead Compaq forward will require someone who not only wants to be financially compensated but receives inner compensation as well. I'm sure you can name a few individuals who have more than enough economic compensation ..yet still work their but off. Financial compensation isn't the issue. Question: Where would Apple be without Steve Jobs? What did he personally have that re-energized the company? Someone else may have been able to do the same...so why him and how/why has he increased the company's value? My response shouldn't be taken as a personal attack but a philosophical discourse
