Revenues for first quarter 1999 were $10.0 million, up 163 percent from the same quarter of the previous year. Net loss for the quarter was $6.7 million, compared with a net loss of $31.0 million for first quarter 1998. Raised a seed round of $2 million in May 1996 from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Raised a first round of $14 million in August 1996; New Enterprise Associates led the round, with Kleiner Perkins, Benchmark Capital, Crosspoint Venture Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, and Venture Lending and Leasing participating. Raised a second round of $40 million in August 1997 from Ericsson, Nortel (Northern Telecom), the Siemens/Newbridge Alliance, 3Com, and UUNet WorldCom. Raised a third round of $6 million in December 1997 from AT&T Ventures, the Anshutz Family Investment Company (which holds a majority stake in Qwest Communications), and prior investors. Total capital raised: $62 million. CTO and founder Pradeep Sindhu previously worked in research and development at Xerox PARC. CEO previously cofounded Stratacom (Cisco).
